The Adventures of Charlie Davies

While the squad of Hammarby is doing their best on Cyprus to get in shape for the start of the season, one player is absent. Charlie Davies is currently in the U.S. participating in the Olympic qualifications with his U.S. U-23 team.

On Saturday the 15th, U.S. beat Honduras with 1-0 after a penalty by Eddie Gaven in the 95th minute (!). The penalty was conceded by an Honduran player who tripped Charlie Davies inside the area. Already in the 62nd minute Charlie Davies was given another penalty, he was brought down, but Davies missed it (shot wide to the right).

U.S. was the most offensive team throughout, but the match was hard won as the finalizing goal didn't appear until the 95th minute.

Again, Charlie Davies contributed to the win in a spectacular way.
